OrangeHousing.com tends to be a decent resource in the Westcott area as well.
thats kinda what I was thinking. That website is great. Thank you so much for that

And you'd also be able to get a better feel for where you want to be, in this area, before committing to a full lease.
I didn't even think that was possible but I am def going to give that a try so thank you very much. I think that would be perfect for what I am looking for. When you say properties though, I assume you mean full houses and not just private sublets right? If they are full houses I wonder if the prices for utilities would offset the deal I might get on rent.

Also, looks like Nob Hill does month-to-month leases. It's listed under their "furnished" section, but I'm willing to bet they may do it for unfurnished as well if you ask - Nob Hill Apartments - Furnished Apartments
thanks again Becca. I have been checking out the sublet section and thats where I got those address from to begin with. I continue to check everyday and just bookmark ones I think might work out. I did not notice that on the nob hill site so thank you for pointing that out. I think I just need to figure out if I would prefer a complex or flat. Decisions, decisions

It's somewhat of a busy student area but it's in a good part. Two blocks from the heart of the business district over there and right on a bus line to boot.

If it's a small house, you're not going to be paying much, especially during non-winter seasons. Well, unless you're like my children and turn on lights and electronics by simply passing through a room. :P

I don't know who sells the most foreclosures but some companies I can think of, off the top of my head, are-

Prudential
Keller Williams
CNY Realtor

A google search would get you more... and numbers. They might at least be able to direct toward the people who tend to deal with foreclosures.

This may be another option to look into: Property Search - Syracuse / Central / Auburn (http://realtyusa.com/property/default.asp?selregion=syracuse - broken link)
