I think it sucks that I can't use the Nexus on Verizon.
I think it's great that it is only $299. It's about time someone did that. No way a Galaxy SIII or an iPhone5 should cost $600 unlocked.
I think the Nexus 10 should be $349. Really break free of the herd on pricing.

Can't be used on Verizon? Is that Verizon's decision, or Google? I'm certainly not going to leave Verizon for want of a tablet...

I bought the Nexus 7 8GB about 3 months ago and it works for what I need it to do. I do not load movies or music. I have my iPhone for music. I use it for general email, Facebook, and news reading at home. I do not take it with me when I leave the house. I have read books on it without any trouble. I plan on taking with me when I go on vacation next year but mainly for reading. It will be nice if I can pick up a wifi signal but not needed since I have my iPhone for checking email.

Google spec'ed out the phone so that was a Google decision. We are talking about the phone, here, not the tablet Re: using on VZW. Not sure about the tablet. Personally I would only get a Wifi tablet so cellular compatability is a non issue for me.

Thanks. I'm finding the information regarding Nexus to be rather confusing. I think it's a nice product name, but it seems they are using it across different device lines. Not a good sales decision in my mind.

The Nexus 10 only comes in a wifi form. There aren't any versions of the tablet that offer cellular service, yet anyways.
Google opted to release an unlocked Nexus 4 to avoid having to deal with carrier restrictions. Looking back, I am sure they would have done the Galaxy Nexus differently given the restrictions Verizon has placed on the device.

Thanks. I finally read enough to figure out what they did. I find myself falling behind on tablet information because of little interest - for now. Once we start traveling I'll immerse myself and figure out what we will buy to replace laptops.

I'm just wondering why Google didn't take the one step that many tablet users seem to be wanting: adding a slot for an expandable memory card. That would've won over a lot of buyers. The Clouds out there don't help in all situations, and privacy/security issues are still a sticking point for some folks.
Also, has anybody seen the larger tablet in stores yet? If so, which stores? I'm eager to experience what both of the Google tablets feel like in the hand. My inkling is that the 10" is too big for me, but maybe it's easier to read a book on. When I test-drove a co-worker's iPad, I did find it a tad heavy, but I didn't have anything to compare it to, tho.
