Except that the USF Bulls lost their game, it was a great weekend for Tampa Bay sports for sure!

19k opening game. I went to about 20 games last season, drank the koolaid and was really disappointed. Poor attendance.

I'm going to wait until I get on board - I have a few tickets for the season, but won't drink the koolaid. Big turnover of players along w/ coach, GM.

If they start to lose, you'll see a mass exodus of fans, even if the ST Pete Times forum is located in a more central location.

Josh Freeman did it again! Granted this isn't a playoff-caliber team yet but one has to like the signs of better things to come, and to be a half-game out of first place in the NFC South after 6 games isn't something anyone saw coming...Go Bucs!

Only thing that is going to suck for them is that the NFC is so bad right now they may squeak through and get a WC spot since they have such an easy schedule.

While getting a WC spot may make fans happy it will translate to a lower draft pick and harder schedule next year. A WC spot and one and done is not worth to them right now.

Hard to believe there were so many open red seats at RJS. Discouraging play in the first half - but thankfully STL gave up a lot of yards in the second. They didn't know what to do w/ Blount.

Not really, this is the Tampa Bay metro after all... The Rays can attest to that!

I agree and disagree. The higher draft picks would be helpful but all in all feel like having bandwagon fans filling the seats would be advantageous also, particularly if they were to outnumber the opposing team's fans and make some serious noise.

haven't seen today's attendance numbers but it looked like the worst attendance for a Bucs' game so far this season - because not too many STL Rams fans at the game. The other games had a larger amount of opponent fans.

Ticket prices in this economy. I just priced 4 seats to the Panthers game next month. Cheapest seats are upper deck, corners...total of $185 for the four. That doesn't include parking or food. With that included that's close to $250.

I can afford that for a game or two a season but it's obvious that not as many can as used to. The NFL may have finally started to find it's ceiling on what they can charge. I understand blackouts are becoming common across the NFL.

League has no plans to lighten TV blackout restrictions this season

42,000 attendance. Probably less, since I believe that the team announces tickets sold, not people in the seats.

Here's a rebroadcast from NFL.com if you're interested. I believe the link will work for only a few days.
