Great Italian food would be Donnatello's on Dale Mabry. A bit high in prices but worth it. Good for a fancy dinner or anniversary. White glove treatment. Food is excellent and service is as well. It's been a while since I've been there but heard it is still good. I live a distance from it so I don't get down there much. But your not too far from there I believe.

Also another nice fancy place is in the Hyatt Top of the hotel
Armani's Restaurant. Also italian. Great atmosphere for a special occassion. Top notch service and food. Sorry but I don't know too many local places in your area as I live in Trinity Area.

As I said both a little expensive but great for a really special occassion. You won't be dissappointed.

I can't help you with Tampa Palms, but there's great Indian at Bombay Masala on Waters Ave in Town and Country. Also great Indian near USF - and as I'm typing I forgot the name

I do know however that there are at least two Indian restaurants that serve meat and another that is vegetarian right in the USF area. (chowhound.com will help you out on this)
