Hi, my girl an i and her 12 yr old Daughter are looking in this area because of the rental home prices. she works for Walmart here and can transfer to closest walmart. I flip cars and collect social security.
My girl will be trying to find a higher paying job full time not Walmarts Part time crazy schedules. Most houses we have found are in developements with some crazy rules. Is there a better city to live in with decent schools, safe and decent job s available? I lived in Plantation in the 80s, but I was single and all I had to worry about was me. averaging a $800.00 rent and cost of movintg we are gonna spend around $4500.00 to get down to NPR even looking in Spring Hill. Just don't know what the right thing to do is. Anyone have any suggestions? Could use any help you can give us.
Thanks

I realize this is old, but LOL.

My sister lives in Westchase and although she loves it there, she has commented numerous times on the crime. Several of her neighbors have had their garages and homes broken into and several possessions stolen. Nothing violent has happened that she's aware of - just a lot of theft. I think because Westchase borders Town and Country it gets a lot of TnC's problems.

I personally would stay out of NPR. If your girlfriend is looking for a Wal-Mart job, have her look at Spring Hill. There are plenty of Wal-Marts there. With your rental budget, you should be able to find plenty of rental opportunities in Spring Hill. It's very inexpensive to live there. Safety and schools depend on the specific area of Spring Hill. Some areas are pretty sketchy there while others are OK. I'm sure if you are interested some of the folks on here who live in Spring Hill can point you to the better areas.

You have the gang bangers from TNC causing this crime.

That's what I think too. I grew up in TnC in the early 70's. It used to be a nice area back then with a lot of great Hispanic culture. It just breaks my heart to drive through there now and see what a dump it has become.

It is a total dump. Started going downhill in the 90's.

That was one of the big reasons we ruled out Westchase. It borders right up against crapville....IMO.

Anything you can provide or websites you can send me will be appreciated. Thanks.
My father in law used to live in Summertree, it's a nice development, he and my mother in law liked it a lot, nice pool and golf course. Part of it is quite a bit older construction (1970s) but still in good shape. The area's not known for beaches as someone posted, you have to drive a ways.
