After striking out fishing this morning, I decided to take a drive over to Tarpon Springs to check it out.

WOW, is it nice there. I loved the quaint downtown, the sponge dock area was awesome and park was extremely enjoyable. I don't know if it was dolphins or manatees coming to the surface, but it sure was enjoyable.

This was just a quick visit to see what it was all about. I plan on spending an afternoon there with the wife soon. So many interesting places for lunch, then we can bike & walk to all the shops and the park, maybe take a cruise on a boat and the come back for some desert.

I saw a sign pointing to the beaches, but never made it down that far. I did see some beautiful homes along the way. I just never really expected there would be as much as there was. It is awesome.

It's a little slice of heaven in the Tampa Bay (area) paradise. Man, it doesn't get much better than this.

Amazing Greek food down there. You need to try Mr. Souvalki while you are there, and then stop at Hella's Bakery for dessert. Honeymoon Island is probably the closest beach … it is very beautiful there.

Glad you enjoyed Tarpon Springs! It's just one of the wonderful places down here in Northern Pinellas.

Tarpon Springs is definitely a neat little town, I have always enjoyed visiting there. Very unique, and those sponge docks and souvenir shops haven't changed since I was a kid (and that's a LONG time, LOL!)

We ate at Dimitri's On The Water today. Great meal, nice place, beautiful weather and on the water. Can't ask for much more than that.

We are loving it!

We lived in Tarpon Springs in a townhouse on the water a few years back. We liked it but it was just too far away from Tampa and the activities we liked.

Ya, it takes us about 20 minutes or so to get to Tarpon Springs. But it's worth it to spend a few hours. We want to try some of the boat tours as well.

So many things to do.
