The news just said 40% of the jobs will pay more than $50k per year. Not quite all minimum/low wage jobs as some speculated.

Well, we'll have to wait and see if it really pans out that way, but it's hopeful news for the area for sure. Lol, many times I've passed those three large, lone warehouses in the "Southshore Corporate Park" and wondered what would ever happen to them. I guess they'll be made over and modified. Amazon is moving ahead.

What I like about the deal is that people in South Shore will now have a shot at some decent $$ instead of having to choose between Home Depot, WalMart, Big Lots and the Dollar and Grocery stores. It'll be fun to see some of those places lose their better employees to a better employer.

'Cavernous' Amazon warehouse in Ruskin is well under way | Tampa Bay Times

New roadway leading into the warehouse is completed - good for us local folks navigating around the area - I heard they may also add an exit off of I75 - another good thing for those of us around. Circle K Convenience store is building a new place as well. Kind of overkill as there are several other gas stations in the area, but I'm sure they've researched the need.

Good news for those still looking for work. I just hope Hillsborough County and FDOT do a better job handling the traffic flow than Pasco County did around Wesley Chapel.
