Hi all,

I will be getting a few home owners insurance quotes in the next couple of days on a 1013 square ft 1980 villa in the Baytown community in Safety Harbor. Would any of you have a guess as to what might be a reasonable quote for this? Thank you!

OP, my villa HOA includes insurance external shell of the home while I purchase my own internal contents/structure insurance. My place is valued at about $150k and my insurance is approximately $1600/yr estimated. I live about 10 miles inland outside of a floodzone. I carry an additional $250/yr FEMA flood insurance even though I'm nowhere near a floodzone for my own peace of mind. One of my friends is struggling finding a company to cover his $300k home - not sure exactly what the issues that people are facing trying to get coverage - the whole industry is suspect in my mind. I do business w/ USAA for car and home insurance and pay more than I should but USAA is dependable and I like their customer svc.
