It's really difficult to comprehend. This time there were 3 people in the car and no one said - this might not be the best place to turn around/etc?

I'm not sure where exactly the accident occurred, but this intersection at Bearrs @ 275 looks like there's a few possibilities where someone not familiar with the area might go up the wrong ramp.
sure! and then keep driving and thinking why all these cars are driving in opposite direction?
There are nothing accidental about these crashes... these were driving in opposite direction on purpose...

Wow, another crash?!

Believe it or not when I drive now at night on 275 (I had to drive a couple of times at 2 to 3 am, virtually no one on the road), I am always wondering if someone is coming head on, a bad feeling.

I don't blame you. All these crashes happen in the wee hours and involve impaired people behind the wheel. You can be a sitting duck. I definitely wouldn't want to be on that road at that time of the night.

Glad you have it all figured out. Maybe you should give DOT a call and tell them what they have to do to prevent these fatal wrecks from happening.

I had the same feeling the other day especially where the road go a little bit uphill and you can't see over that little "hill".

To me it is stunning how many crashes occur with people in their thirties or late twenties with a lot of kids at home in the wee hours of the night or early morning and their families getting the news their loved one and mom or dad has passed away.

I wonder if pills were involved since that is what you hear a lot...abuse of prescription medication and alcohol or drugs.

I can't believe a normal thinking and acting person will make a U turn on a high way.

Many of our US highways (non-interstate) like US 301 have multi-laned roads with stretches that feel like interstate. I'm not excusing them, but I'm of the mindset that the roadways can be engineered to prevent some of these things. Can't just attribute it to drugs/alcohol.

Okay, there's hope: New technology could thwart wrong-way crashes

this is what I was looking for...why does it take several deaths to get them to think about these things.....In Tallahassee, the state transportation department is adding new and bigger signs, adjusting sign locations, adding pavement markings and installing radar-tripped LED signs that flash a “wrong way” display if a vehicle enters an interstate off-ramp at four locations.
