I don't think it was an inside job as such, but I was wondering if the perps might have had a bit of inside information. It just seems odd that two people, one from Tampa and one from Land O Lakes, would target that particular store, at that particular time. So I was wondering if they might have had a friend or acquaintance who worked there and maybe divulged (even innocently) some information that led to the store being targeted for robbery. It's just so strange.

LOL, yes, I've seen the jokes about robbing a Radio Shack. I mean, it's sort of a no-brainer to rob a store toward the end of the day, seeing as how there's a likelihood of more cash. In Sun City Center, due to the number of migrants and illegals in the area, I would expect to see more cash transactions. But also, that's a LOT of cell phones, maybe someone knew the inventory flow?

Bought one of those tiny netbooks from that particular store back in '09 before Ipads became the 'in thing".

I was always impressed with the young workers in there providing customer service. Never a problem and always good service. I hope they're all okay and had nothing to do with this as an "inside job".

Agree about the customer service and energy level of the workers, I was always well treated there myself. That's why I mentioned that inside info can sometimes be innocent, such as mentioning in passing that "Wow, Wednesdays are tough! That's when all the cell phone inventory comes in" or something like that.

I have to say, for the most part, retail workers in this area are pretty darned good, very helpful and level-headed and courteous. Intelligent, too.

Those young kids in there are 100x better than the workers in bigger box stores like Best Buy ----- Radio Shack in SCC is a necessity for those octogenarians who live nearby and don't know the first thing about electronics.....but you've got to think they'll close that shop down - surprised it lasted this long.

I was driving south on I-75 about 10:30pm last night and noticed all the traffic and the damaged vehicles. Now I know what happened.

A friend of mine was caught up in the traffic of another chase on I75 near the Brandon Mall -- where the perps jumped the guardrails and headed to Macys. Hopefully I'll never have to deal with this crazy stuff in my travels. Getting to be like Hollywood movie scenes out there in the Brandon/Apollo Beach/Riverview areas (joking of course0.

We're giving some serious thought to moving on. When we first moved here in 2000, it was so spacious, I thought I died and went to heaven after leaving South Florida. You could zip back and forth on 674 without much traffic to impede progress. Now, it gets fairly congested at times and the area is starting to look like what we thought we had escaped in South Florida. I can't imagine what it will be like when Amazon gets cranked up.

The south side of east Shell Point Rd is just nasty. When we first moved to the area, it was fronted by neat little houses and duplexes that were well kept up and the neighborhood behind it was a relatively pleasant working class area with older houses that had some land. Now it's just trashy, one of the consequences of the housing collapse. Hard to believe there were a couple of properties back there that were priced at $250,000 at the height of the bubble.
