I just do little by little.
Come up to NYC and wait for a train in the subway stations with no A/C when it's already 90 degrees outside.

Been there once in 1981 and was not my cup of tea.

I have been doing some organizing in my garage, heated up in full afternoon sun. A good sweat is healthy, then a dip in the pool.

Do the same in winter when you can keep meat fresh in a subway station. Worse is an elevated or outdoor station in the boroughs.

Hope this 99L storm or whatever it's called bypasses the Tampa area or at least fizzles into a general rain storm.

Be safe out there.

I don't understand your "westwind thing" but I do know that when a hurricane enters the gulf, a west wind makes it a bowling ball into the gulf coast (like hurricane charlie). That seems to happen in October (which otherwise is our best weather month of the year - IMO).

It's easy to understand. Our normal summer pattern is a southeast windflow. That means showers build up east of the Tampa area and move toward the west coast around 330 to 7pm.

With a reverse west windflow that means the summer pattern is in reverse and the winds are blowing from the west and showers build around 8 to 20 miles inland and move away from the Tampa area toward the east coast. That means i never see much rain since i am on the gulf when we have a west wind 24/7.

Also with tropical lows to our east, it will make air sink around them and that drys us out and makes us hotter.

No one knows. A CAT 5 could be 2 weeks from now or 50 years away.
