This is not surprising, but all the stations near me are out of fuel. I was able to fill up my company vehicle at Wawa before they ran out of regular gasoline.

I ran back over with the wife's car and topped it off and filled my gas cans. They still have the non-ethanol boat fuel which costs more, but if course is fine to use.

Hotels are all full and many of my neighbors have houseguests.

Be safe everyone.

I personally don't understand the panicky behavior. Tampa Bay is not in the storm path, no surge, not even strong winds. This is not 40-50 years ago when there were no construction requirements, power lines were mostly above ground, stores without generators, etc. Why fill up on gasoline when the storm will pass in just a day? Is it media-hype or group hysteria?

For example: while shopping for dinner yesterday, heard a lady babbling on her phone reading down a laundry list of things to do, "got to fill up the car, got to go to the liquor store, got to get ice, etc. I couldn't believe it.

the worse it the loss of power because of the amount of trees wrapped around power lines- and in Tampa you could get some spin off burst of high wind-- which sometimes tun into mini tornadoes-- better safe than sorry right?

Well, gas was out because of people shifting to i75 while leaving FL east coast, so they filled up in Tampa.I'd rather see people prepared than being total fools - no matter where...and when a bad hurricane DOES hit Tampa Bay down to Manatee SRQ you won't be laughing, because Tampa and DT will be totally underwater, the Skyway blocked, and i275, causeway, Frankenstein will be a total disaster with fools that waited to leave

So far haven't seen any damage other than a power line and a tree down
