There's a canoe / kayak rental service on Alafia that's on my bucket list of things to do. Further south there's another on Little Manatee River.

I stay away from areas where there could be an alligator lurking. That's why I do the Hillsborough Bay trek - have only seen dolphins and usually a few manatees. The workout has got to be pretty good for the arms as well.

Its been a few years but it was fun, they take you upriver in a van and drop you off at one of the County Parks and you end up back at there place.

Wait your chicken about gators but brackish shallow water is cool? Bull sharks are notorious for playing in, yet you have no fear of? I will point out the last death by a shark in Tampa bay area was by a bull shark and they are the number one most dangerous shark to man. Jaws was loosely based on the bull shark fatal attacks in a New Jersey freshwater river that exited to the ocean from brackish estuary. I don't even see alligators on the top 10 list of most dangerous reptiles. Ending with the fact that alligators have no problem navigating salt water, nor do rattlesnakes. Alligators on occasion have been found on the St. Petersburg waterfront, and more commonly eastern diamonbacks. A good place to see a eastern diamond back in the wild is Ft. Desoto or honeymoon island parks. I always take people to weedon island managroves to view the incredible eastern diamonback rattler. They swim a lot.

It is a form of privilege though I wont lie. To always be happy go lucky.. something is wrong with that syndrome because not all of us can go through life and be like this and even if we could, wouldn't it still seem like a façade? It just proves all the more that people in FL or attracted to this area now are more faker than ever. So ya it does annoy me to see everyone so cheery when there are real problems in this country right now. The cheeriness should come when all the problems are fixed and that's in the back of everyones thick skull. Not trolling.. I am serious.

If your not happy w/ something, some place or somebody then IMO you should try your best to do something about it. What good does crying about your situation do except make others want nothing to have to do w/ you?
