Please.. I know plenty of ppl who live in Pinellas county and they are not trailer trash. Most live in very nice houses and a few live in condos on the beach.

We are here to help the OP and making generalized statements good or bad does not help the OP.

I saw that some Lutz addresses are listed as Pasco County and some as Hillsborough county. Anyone know more about this or if one is better to live in for taxes, schools, etc?

Historically speaking, the millage rate for taxes is lower in Pasco, but homeowner insurance rates are higher (many factors apply).

My personal experience with the school system is limited to the Carrollwood area and I'm the grandma . I can say the schools around the Lutz Lake Fern area are very desirable for recent acquaintenances. McKitrick Elementary and Martinez Middle are relatively new and scored well on the Florida FCAT system. And the new $60-million Steinbrenner High School, being built next door to the previous two schools, is scheduled to open in 2009. All three are in Hillsborough County.

I would recommend LUTZ, CARROLLWOOD, NEW TAMPA, OR NEAR FISHHAWK.

Again, I do not recommend Pinellas Park to my worst enemy, although some do like it.
I find it full of crime, hotter than other areas because of lots of cement and cars, lots of trailers, lower education, very dangerous traffic, and expensive.

Leaning towards Lutz if we head towards Tampa. Seems to have the best blend of what we are looking for. Thanks for the suggestions and any more are welcome!
