Hi all,

My husband and I are thinking of moving to the Tampa area from DE. We are looking for nice areas to live with a family. We enjoy areas with diverse houses, not so much the cookie cutter type, but would think about a new home subdivision if the price and schools were right. My husband has interest in Dunedin because it has a nice, historic downtown, but I don't know anything about the area at all. He will be working close to the Tampa airport and doesn't want a commute of more than around 30 mins. We also would like to spend under $300,000 for a house, preferrably under $250,000 and get something with 4 bedrooms and around 2000 sq. ft. Are there any nice areas that fit this description? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dunedin would be a longer commute than 30 minutes during rush hour. You might want to check out Safety Harbor if your DH is looking for a quaint downtown.. You could also check out Carrollwood or Citrus Park.

I second the above. I live in Dunedin and it always take me more than 30min to the airport even on Saturday. Rush hour could strech that to 45min to 1hr. Before buying you can drive and see how much it takes you. Regarding the house, I am in house hunting right now and I can tell you that you can get one for mid 200s with swiming pool (those are the one I am looking). The square fotage is tricky most house are smaller and you may have to pay a little more or compromise somethings. Safety harbor is great too but houses there are more expensive than Dunedin at least in my search. There are also few houses on the market there. I an almost giving up that for us but if you can find one that you like and afford that's a great place to live. But driving may be issue there but a little closer than Dunedin. Probably your best bet in terms of driving is to say in Hills county.

Good luck
