I grew up in Lakeland, near Lake Bonny, the Southside of town and the Highlands are the nicest areas, the interlachen area you are referring to I think is between Lake Bonny and Parker, its not a bad area, up Memorial, around Combee and North and East Lakeland, are not quite as Well Maintained as the Southside. Overall Lakeland is a nice town, close to Tampa, and ORl about 45 Minutes to Tampa at the most, Has malls, restaurants, etc.. Kinda of Slow for Young People.

I'm living in Lakeland right now and son isn't old enough for school yet but... I have looked into the school distict that we would fall in for when he does start school and the schools are only rated a C...

Can you please tell me what area you are exactly referring to when you say The Highlands?

Thanks

According to a map I found on Google, it's the area south of the Polk Parkway on the eastern side of Lakeland. It wasn't clear to me where the area on the southern side stopped on the map, but most of my family (in-laws who have been in Lakeland since the 1920's) lives in the Scott Lake area and when asked where they live in Lakeland, they respond, "in the Highlands".
