Very true, however you know cold is going to kill you. When would you expect 95 degrees to kill you?

I think you will find almost all the time when the temp approaches 90 that the humidity will be closer to 50 or 60%.

A temp of 90 with 50% humidity has a feels like of 95 degrees, not a big jump from the actual temp.
By the way, on average, the summer humidity in the afternoon—I found the data split by morning and afternoon—is still 65%+ which still equates to 103 in the shade or 118 in the sun, hardly the same as 90 degrees. Even 5 degrees is a large difference, but 28 degrees? C'mon.

The average for the summer months was mostly over 60%. 90 degrees at 60% humidity feels like 100 in the shade 115 otherwise.

Apparently, someone disagrees with my views on Tampa rain. I asked two people that I know would definitely disagree with me and tell me I'm wrong and they both took my side. All I can say is that whoever disagrees, will eventually see. I hope that they don't see it through the rear glass of the car in front of them which will, inevitably, not have their lights on in the rain as people around this city are apt to do.

I doubt anyone would disagree about the dangers of driving in heavy summer rains in Florida. I strongly disagree with your assumption that it is as dangerous as winter driving in the north. It's laughably ignorant. It's apparent you prefer the cold-- that's fine. But you're doing a disservice to the state of Florida and Tampa in general to suggest to potential Floridians that our safety will be worse in Florida.

If someone thinks 79 is hot then I would say Florida is not where they should be living.

Average humidity for July, August, September in my area north of Tampa is around 77-79%.

Even downtown Tampa with the heat island effect is 81-83% average.

I think you need to go take another look because unless it is raining as it warms up during the day the humidity usually will go down.

Where is the average humidity 90% for the month?

Do you have a link?

I said the average was around 50-60% at the warmest part of the day but you are also using the average humidity with the high temperature when at the time of the high is when the humidity will be lower.

But enough on this. As I have said in so many of these threads about weather in Florida, as you head south towards the equator the temperature will rise, if you don't like warm weather then Florida may not be the right place for you.

We recently moved back to CO, and I'm glad to be back in the cool, dry air. It really is a matter of preference. A good friend of mine who lives in FL says summer in FL is her favorite season. Go figure!
