Turned it on last week when the rain came through and cooled things off, mostly because the kid complained of the cold. Thinking about getting a space heater for her room and keeping the thermostat set low.

The electric bill is what's got me holding off. Our bills shoots up to over $600 a month when we use the heat. So far, we've not used it. The bonus for us in winter is all the dogs in the bedroom with the door closed at night builds up body heat so we don't get too cold. We have a friend and her little boy staying with us though so we may not be able to hold off much longer. Unless they want to borrow half a dozen dogs or so!

Yep, heat on. Had three cats on the bed, but they tossed the 4th off like an extra blanket. Poor kid.

Northern plateau... not sure exactly how cold it got here on the southern end but my peppers are still unburnt this morning. Looks like the first killing frost has been pushed back to November again this year. But being a thin-blooded Tennessee native I've been running the heat off and on for awhile.

Night before last we had frost. The yard was white when I woke up. Wasn't feeling well today so didn't get up in time to see if we'd had any last night.

Still no heat. Hubby says he can't feel his toes anymore. Put on socks!!! I've loving these under $200 electric bills!! As soon as that heat comes on it'll quadruple. Ugh!
