Oh, geez, that's what we need. Our house is on the market. Hopefully, this storm front will not be as bad as predicted.

Here is today's story:

"The Tennessee Valley will bear the brunt of an onslaught of tornadoes today into tonight. With strong and long-tracking tornadoes expected, there is serious concern for loss of life and property. The worst of today's tornado outbreak, however, will come during the midday hours to this evening. AccuWeather.com meteorologists are especially worried about the corridor from northern Mississippi and northern Alabama to extreme southeastern Kentucky. It is within this zone that a powerful storm system could spawn numerous large and long-tracking tornadoes (with rankings equal or higher than EF3).

Some of the populated areas at greatest risk for powerful tornadoes today include Greenwood, Miss.; Tupelo, Miss.; Birmingham, Ala.; Huntsville, Ala.; Nashville, Tenn.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Rome, Ga.

Please keep your TVs or local radio stations on.

Storm Watch (video)
... A SIGNIFICANT OUTBREAK OF SEVERE WEATHER EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF STRONG TORNADOES...

A STRONG COLD FRONT WITH A STRONG WIND FIELD WILL MOVE ACROSS THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING... BRINGING THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT OUTBREAK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN REGION. AN AREA OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER ALABAMA AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE MAY AFFECT THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU THIS MORNING... BUT THE BIGGER SEVERE THREAT FOR THIS REGION SHOULD MATERIALIZE THIS AFTERNOON AS SCATTERED SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP. THESE SUPERCELL STORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE VERY LARGE HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF GOLF BALLS OR LARGER... AND ALSO THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG AND LONG-LIVED TORNADOES.

THESE SCATTERED SUPERCELL STORMS SHOULD THEN CONGEAL INTO A LINE BY THIS EVENING... WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH... AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL UP TO TWO INCHES. THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A THREAT FOR TORNADOES WITH THIS LINE OF STORMS IN THE EVENING.

RESIDENTS OF EAST TENNESSEE... SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA... AND EXTREME SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA ARE URGED TO STAY INFORMED OF THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION TODAY AND TONIGHT. NOW IS THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WOULD DO IF A TORNADO WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA. FOR SEVERE WEATHER AND TORNADO SAFETY INFORMATION...

The wind shears last night in Rutherford County were like a hurricane.

If you live in the mid-south and don't own a weather radio, PLEASE spend the $20 to $40 on one. It might save your life.

It's insanely windy right now here in Greene County. The trees are practically sideways and I'd say we're getting bursts up to 50 mph. Sky's looking sorta dark but it looks like the rains are gonna pass us by on the way to the Tri-Cities.

Stay safe everyone!

11:40 tonight in Jonesborough, the Tornado sirens were blaring, I could hear them from the house. We were down in the basement of our brick house, lots of lightning and rain. Wife heard a loud roar, doubt it was a tornado, but the weathermen on the TV sure are excited.

What a crazy 6 months it's been, snow, ice, wind damage now tornadoes the last few weeks......hope everyone is safe!
