Have you had some bad experiences? I wonder if it’s location specific because the people I know with Teslas haven’t complained about such, but they’re also in areas that have a lot of people buying Teslas so there’s probably more support infrastructure. I would think that if someone were in a smaller city in a state with very few Tesla sales and EVs in general, it’d probably be pretty rough if something went wrong.
I am active on the Tesla forums (tesla.com and TMC). There are a few service centers that people seem to like. There are several people hate and then there are the rest which are mediocre at best.
I've had several bad experiences, most related to parts delays way longer than they should be.
The entire customer service experiences is poor with their "contact via app" system and the inability to ever speak to someone on the phone.
I've had a Model S since 4/15. When I'm ready for a new car, hopefully there will be some viable EV options available. As of now, in my mind, there aren't.
They better come up with new styling. Somebody who pays a minimum of $80k for a car doesn't want it to look the same as the car that came out 10+ years ago.
You're right. That's why no one bought Porsches, for example.

If you're going for a Model S replacement of sorts as in an electric mid or full size sedan, you'll probably see a few of them in the coming years. There's the Taycan now which is pricey though there's the Audi e-tron GT based on the same platform coming next year. Mercedes has its EQS next year. The next Jaguar XJ is supposed to be electric. Cadillac has its Celestiq sedan though that might take a couple of years. Lucid Air's coming out next year with a reveal of sorts tomorrow though that's another gamble with a start-up. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai fielded an electric Genesis sedan or Nissan an electric Infiniti if it can keep that going.
Maybe Tesla will actually invest a bit in doing better support and the Model S gets some interesting changes.

To me, the Taycan was a big letdown. HOpefully the EQ line from Mercedes is competitive. And perhaps BMW and VW, too. Then there's the Kona EV, though not a sedan.
It's a real shame Tesla dropped the ball on customer service. Hopefully Musk will get bored and find something new to do, then the exodus of quality managers may reverse itself. I know, I'm dreaming...

I kind of like the Taycan. Pretty good looking inside and out to me, though I'm surprised that the range isn't a bit higher given how large its battery pack is. I'm going to guess that a mid-generation refresh once they've gotten more experience with managing that battery pack will mean a pretty decent bump in range--the Audi etron after all got a modest, but appreciable 18 mile range bump after a couple of years. What is it that you don't like about the Taycan?
If you're opening up to non-luxury vehicles and crossovers, then the field gets a lot bigger with maybe a dozen refreshed or new BEVs next year.
Maybe Musk will get sucked into the singularity and he can mind-tweet to his content.
One thing I'd like to see is in addition to the sentry mode is an "ed-209 mode" where machine guns would come out and shoot potential car thieves.
but everyone and their mothers are potential car thieves. at least we will have no more crime if we have no more people.
