Nope, she is not left-wing at all. She is a pro-gun, fiscally conservative Democrat. But yes, she is a lesbian. But hardly left-wing and far from socialist... even with Houston (the city) leaning Democrat, socialist would not fly there.

Let's just assume that either choice will be far more conservative than Seattle, and not let this thread get off topic into general political talk. Thanks!

Dallas is 300 miles inland in the land-locked prairie country of CST which spands from North Texas all the way to the Dakotas: they specialize in Bullheads & Perch & Bass at nearby lakes while the Houston metro area includes Galveston which is in fact an island in the Gulf of Mexico where you've got some big-time salt-water/deep-sea fishing opportunities available to you if you are so inclined. Or maybe you are into boating, and there's tons of that in the Gulf.

If you can learn to tolerate the high temps for 5-6 months out of the year you will probably really like it in either City. Sounds like you work in a high end place and there are plenty of high rollers in both Cities, it could be good career move. Both are fully stocked with good looking women, my experience was that they are friendlier and more approachable in Houston (I married one). Also the women do not seem as money and status focused in Houston.

LOL.
Please stay far away from both cities.
You sound like you're very very conservative. I don't think you'll like either one of the cities since both of them tend to lean more to the left.

By Seattle standards, I'm the next Mussolini...by the rest of the countries standards, I'm centerish with views on both sides of the fence. I've been to Texas and it actually seems moderate in the cities with extremes only in the back country...like I said, the panhandle scared me when we drove through.

I think Texas just has a bad rep for the most part.

That seems to be the consensus I'm getting. Is Houston growing faster than Dallas? I think it's more of a growing, national city than a "Texas city," if I'm not mistaken.
