Since you're from here originally, you know how that is. You've got some pretty good heat in your neck of the woods as well.

"Smaller" than Dallas or Houston in terms of number of people living there, sure (though unfortunately gaining ground on them daily), but significantly bigger in terms of the things I look for in a city. It's like an oasis in the Bible Belt, IMO.

Heat in Chicago? Puh-lease. Having lived in both Chicago and central/south Texas, let me assure you there is no comparison. People in Chicago think it's hot when it's 90 degrees out. It reaches 100 once every few years. Texas reaches 110 several times EVERY year. (And don't get me started on the "but Chicago is HUMID!" nonsense. Houston is every bit as humid if not more, and WAY hotter.)

And why is this still in the wrong forum?

If only it were HUGER

And actually, I LOVE the winters ! lol.

There's something about knowing you can go outside in the hard-core
snow, and still have the luxury of getting home to where it's safe and warm.

LOL. I feel like I'm in the wilderness when I go out in the snow.;
its like an adventure. !

I wonder how anyone else feels about the snow. I should ask.

I am curious why you say Austin is so small. You do realize it is just shy of a million people, right? And when you count the suburbs, I am sure it well exceeds that number. Austin pretty much fits the bill on what you are looking for, and more.

Maybe your expectations are too high, or you simply aren't taking the time to do the research, which I think is pretty evident in your statements thus far. Google, and the search engine here at CD is your friend.

Actually, I have to have it 65 degrees inside, Winter or Summer.

When I am somewhere that it is hot, I don't mind putting up with it
when I'm outside; swimming, etc...
because I know that's how it just is.

But yeah, I prefer cold weather.
The humidity here sucks, but as long as I stay inside, I'm cool.

I've never lived anywhere that has a population under a million.

But I guess ... hmm... I don't know what to say. LOL.

I just know that Texas has hundreds of tiny towns that have like 100 people,
or 1000.
That's not even a town. That should just be called a neighborhood. !

Sheee! There's BLOCKS here that have over 1000 easy !

A town, in my opinion is 400,000 and up.
A city is over 1 million. Or it has to have a 'REAL' downtown.
(at least a few high-rises or sky scrapers)

But that's just me.
