What is it like for a white person living in McAllen/ Edinburg? (San Antonio: neighborhoods, bus)

Yeah good luck waiting every 30 minutes to an hour for the bus to arrive at your stop and finally reach your destination in 2 hours when it could have taken 20 minutes if you owned your own vehicle. Oh and have fun with the thug sitting next to you. Thank God we atleast have the METRO bus system I don’t know what we would have done without it!

You dont get to decide how other people call themselves.

As for the dating thing, dont always believe that. My gf and her family will not date a caucasian person and neither will i, but they arnt going to go out and advertise it lol.

I would choose Tempe,Mesa, or Chandler,Arizona over McAllen but thats just me.

I think most people posting here have never been to McAllen or Edinburg. There are plenty of Caucasians in both cities who are quite comfortable. In the winter time the valley is flooded with "snow birds" from up North.

I don't know for certain but I would think McAllen has more Caucasians than Edinburg, although Edinburg has the big University.

You don't have to speak Spanish to survive there, at all.

Although the area is majority Hispanic the power base has generally stayed Caucasian. McAllen's mayor is Caucasian.

Now, having said all that, what do you bring to the table? Why would anyone living in Edinburg or McAllen want you as a neighbor??
