Once past the tipping point of lawlessness and criminality, gun control will not reduce crime to any manageable level, because the root cause will be behavioral and not access to the tool.

...because criminals laugh at background checks, registration and assault weapon bans.

They're CRIMINALS...they don't care about gun laws. LOL

There are tons of laws against gun violence ! Your statement goes against your original premise that we need more government control. The government enacted these laws. I am unfettered in my pursuit of happiness without more firearm control.

Please be sensible in your arguments.

No, they don’t. St. Louis has the highest murder rate in the nation.

Even the CDC stats show Texas is nowhere close to the top state for gun violence.

From the link…

In 2019, it is estimated that at least 36% of Texans own guns …

That’s it? We are probably not even close to being the most heavily armed state per capita. With these displays of false bravado and tough talking on the internet you might think otherwise. All hat, no cattle.

Being murdered is dangerous ! You've harped so much about the danger of an armed society and the increase of danger (and thus murder?) of the open carry society.

Thus there is a direct correlation to gun murder rates and danger.

I guess higher statewide marksman could play into the equation if one state has significantly better shooters but I don't see that.

I think a lot of things.

What I think is in my many postings in this thread. Your motivations are apparently based on fear ( a wildly unfounded fear IMO). You're willing to trumpet your shallow and often erroneous statements while pushing a position that would result in at least a severe restriction on LEGAL firearm ownership and on the radical end confiscation of legally owned firearms. You seem to be part of a group that deals in shallow emotion based arguments while disregarding facts presented by numerous posters in this thread. Several alternatives have been offered to you that would assuage your fears while leaving freedoms of US citizens intact and you seem to have ignored them also.

I could just throw up my hands in disgust and just SMDH but instead I continue to consider each of your posts and my responses as teachable moments. But as grandma used to say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink".

I'd say "Have a nice day" but I know you're afraid which precludes having that nice day !

The number of guns in America has been “exploding” for generations.
The murder rates also exploded from the 1960s until the early 1990s, then dropped roughly by half over the next 25 years until the pandemic hit.
We have a bad people problem, not a gun problem.

Yep...a bad people problem.

Generations raised with no father in the house, zero work ethic and being fed garbage by an irresponsible media....what did we expect?
