Ive been in LA the last week visiting family and friends with my wife. One thing that I am amazed by is that, while traffic is soooooo much worse in LA, the drivers are nowhere near as aggressive as Houston. LA's drivers are so much more courteous than Houston as crazy as that sounds. Only Miami and NYC have drivers that are as aggressive and inconsiderate as Houston in my experience.

I actually really miss Dallas drivers. Everyone drives over the speed limit all the time but not too far over. In Houston youve got people driving 20 under and 20 over trying to share the same road and all making bad decisions.

Interstates full of people that originated in the urban areas...so yeah...angry, aggressive drivers that are jerks.

No real surprise there....

I will say this , coming from one of the worst states for drivers. I am surprised how clueless drivers seem to be down here. As far as the freeways and interstates go and aggressive drivers, the biggest problem in my view is the same as anywhere else. People driving in the left lane! If you are camped out in the left lane you are going to have a rearview mirror full of my trucks grill. Doesn't matter what speed you are going. Slower traffic keep right! Keep right except to pass!

As long as you're only talking about the leftmost lane, you have a point - though the law already makes that point.

Indeed it does, but as I said there are a lot of clueless drivers who seem to have no idea.

That implies all urban areas have similar drivers which definitely is not true.

All large cities in America have the same kinds of drivers.

I see the same problems in Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans and the larger TX cities like Houston, Austin and Dallas. I travel to these places often.

I really do not think on area has a lead on the other in any particular category, sorry.

According to the feds per mile driven serious MVA/death rates are roughly 2x higher in rural areas than cities. That's been the case for decades.

Here is something interesting as per how we stack up to the rest of the country when it comes to speeding, insurance and reckless driving offenses...
