Tis true. It's all car-cultrue attitude. Especially from Arlington... Expect to see more 'Roid-roads and half tolls here.

they are gonna be claiming that you should be building more Public transportation and claiming too much of THEIR money goes toward sunbelt roads

Just seen on the news that they changed the design of the 635 project in dallas due to a drainage problem. So the lanes that were to be underground will be even with upper lanes. So that means that 635 will now be wide as I-10 in Houston also.

The only difference being DFW's wide freeways aren't as long as Houston's. The I-10 reconstruction project was 25 miles long, for example. And one day, Houston will have as many rail miles as DFW has.

Not exactly true. The lanes will come to grade just before the Dallas North Tollway and will go below grade just after. Its just an improvment to that one junction.

Also, who wants roads as wide as Houstons? I think it's ugly to have a huge concrete river dividing up areas of a city. I like what Dallas is doing with their roads.
