When it snowed here this past Dec, and about 30 miles from here got enough for the kids to sled ride and make snowmen, the schools made them go to school, late, but made them go. I thought no way, if I had a kid in school I would have let them stay home and enjoy it. It is so rare that it was making history afterall!

LOL I am pretty durn sure that you are referring to "Tornado Season" (the Fifth Season!), aren't ya, hon?

Great pics, by the way! Thanks for sharing them, CC.

The one I remember most in Wichita Falls seems like was on March 1...1989 or so? That was the year we got 11 inches of snow on one night and day. A late winter snowstorm swept thru Texas and across the Deep South (if I recall right, even Houston was affected). The Weather Channel made it a big topic under the heading of: "Southern Snows"...and Wichita Falls was first on the list of urban areas as to the total.

Does anyone remember that one?

Yes, tornado season and when the humidity begins. Oh well, it could be worse. I could be jobless.

Gosh, an increase of 100%. Now that's not bad odds.

I have a storm cellar, thank gawd, or I'd be even more unnerved. It gives me some peace of mind.

I remember hearing about a storm in the late 90s and it dumped around 12-18 inches on the areas surrounding Abilene. Could be wrong. I wish Texas did get more snow. It is very beautiful to look at. However, it becomes a pain to drive in.
