You mean cities with skyscrapers? Cuz the Rio Grande Valley region is over 1-2 million people. Lots of land to sprawl with.

Look at a map. See where San Antonio is. Also, as Nick pointed out, Cameron/Hidalgo in the Valley has a larger population than Travis Couinty (Austin).

Yeah, I guess there's no one major city but like TexasNick said above, a lot of people live in the Rio Grande Valley.

we're isolated down here.

not only is the u.s. side isolated, but the mexican side of the border is isolated as well.

has been for hundreds of years.

so much so that they tried seceding from both countries back in the day.

How many major cities does a state have to have??? The three or four in Texas is more than most states have.
