If you have been to Amarillo and haven't changed your mind then you have the right to say what you want on Amarillo. Pet peeve of mine is people saying things about places they've not been to. I HAVE been to Detroit...can say I don't want to live there. Amarillo is vastly different from what you're used to. Am sure you won't want to live there bec it's different for sure!

Some posts discussing Detroit's negative attributes were deleted. Those have nothing to do with the original post and discussion of Detroit is off-topic everywhere in the Texas forum.

If you want to compare Amarillo and Detroit, City-Data has a City vs. City forum you can use to start a new thread about that. Let's get back to answering the OP's questions about Amarillo.
