Hi everyone, I'm moving to Irving, TX this summer, my company is relocating my family there. I'm really hoping to find a townhome, condo to rent for a few years.....but would really like to rent a house...

Houses for rent seem difficult to find on the internet, I'd like to be prepared when I visit there. If anyone could pass along info to help me find homes for rent, I'd greatly appreciate it. Price range to rent is $1000 a month for a house or $800 to 1200 monthly for a nicer apartment... 3bdrms at least.

Also I'd love to hear about great places for young families to enjoy in the area.

I don't think you'll find much as far as a house goes for $1000.

Why are you willing to pay more for an apartment?

Regardless, there are several nice apartment complexes in Irving (posters with more specific knowledge will have to chime in with exact names).

Hi! I know a lot about Irving. Live here and own investment property here (sorry - nothing that would suit you). Is school for your kids an issue? If so, what are your children's ages; that would be a factor in where I'd recommend you to live..... if you respond, I'll be glad to help!

I would avoid the Irving school district (ISD) if I were you. Look at some of the surrounding ones - Coppell ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. North Hills is an excellent charter school in Irving but very tough to get into and the deadline has already passed for next year.

School district lines don't follow city limit lines so you can live in Irving but be in Coppell ISD.
