AND THE PEOPLE....you can't beat the people in NW Ohio...very friendly and down-to-earth. I'd put them up against Southerners, who are known for their hospitality (and most are very hospitable) anyday!
You are so right about the people of NW Ohio. The nicest people I have ever met and I have lived in Ohio, Michigan, Texas and just moved to NC last year. Southern hospitality is in Perrysburg.

I don't know if they still have as many as they used to have, but some of my best summertime memories are of going to all the ethnic festivals. Of course, the German-American festival was by far the biggest (when it was at the Rec. Center)...my ex-husband was in the German-American Society and committee so we were quite involved in the planning and worked in the booths when we were married. There were also the Polish, Italian, Mexican, Greek, and Hungarian festivals we would go to as a family when I was growing up. I loved the music, foods, dancing, costumes, etc....so much fun and it certainly educated us about other cultures' traditions. Do they still have these festivals?
