A SIN can't be demanded from a landlord or anyone representing a landlord, but the peope in the rental offices who handle rental applications will often want a recent credit report. Can you at least obtain one from a European credit bureau? I'm not sure how much weight it will carry, but it's better than not having one at all. Present it along with a letter from your Canadian employer stating your salary and employment status. Bank statements showing how much money you have in your account would be useful as well.
