I spent a couple minutes checking, but couldn't find the breakdown....but B&S definitely has engine plants in China.
Found this though:
"Briggs & Stratton has joint manufacturing ventures with Daihatsu Motor Company (a Toyota Subsidiary) for the manufacture of engines in Japan.."
"A Toyota Subsidiary"??? Uh Oh, you better keep both hands on that B&S powered lawnmower!
lol, it doesn't bother me that much. I'm a GM guy but they've had joint ventures with Yota before plus they use to have a huge stake in Isuzu and continue to offer the Duramax.
Yep;and Hondas lawnmowers are as gtoo9d as their cars. My last one last over 20 years of once a week cuttting. They also make honda generators which are know for their quailty.
My Honda snowthrower is a dream. I actually got it at at least $200 off on the internet. New, with warranty. We actually leave gas in it from one year to the next and it starts right up on the first try. It's more powerful than our old Toro, too.
We have the larger cordless electric B&D lawnmower, and love it, too, but it seems to cut not in a perfect level. Hardly noticeable, though.
Heh... I enjoy greatly watching the left-wingers (I'm a libertarian, myself, if it matters to anyone) defending Toyota and claiming that it is some hypothetical/mystical set of evil "rednecks" responsible for the anti-Toyota hype. Funny, since I see the anti-Toyota hype as the sort of protectionist move the Obama administration et al., who now control the US auto industry, would just *love*.
I just bought a Toyota Yaris and I love it... its fun to drive... gets "okay" MPG of 27-35 mpg... and all of it for 14k after taxes, title, tags, and plates... In the future I plan on buying a Lexus... I bought Toyota because of its reliability and looks like Lexus matches that sort of reliability... I use to be a Honda owner and like Honda but price to value can't beat a Toyota (to me anyways)...
Sure;that is why they made it the number one selling model in the USA.
