Okay, but I am willing to share.

A couple of places in Europe that I have feel are underrated are Salzburg and Brussels.

In the US, southern Utah is outstanding, especially around Moab and Springdale.

Japan.

I'm not much of a world traveler, but I spent 10 days in Japan several years ago riding the trains up and down the country visiting small towns along the way and spent a few days in Tokyo. It was a completely different culture than anything I'd seen before or have seen since. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Belgium is often overlooked for France, Spain, or Italy, as well as Croatia.

We will be there in August this year and plan a day trip to Wieliczka (salt mines just outside Krakow). What other sights do you recommend there?

Uganda. Beautiful, friendly country. Book with a safari company that takes care of everything for you. With the good companies you get a knowledgeable driver who can take you everywhere and on guided tours in the national parks. You can also do gorilla and/or chimp tours. Not cheap to do it this way, but renting a car is not a good idea. One tip though - if you're gay, either don't go or be very discreet. Most definitely not a gay-friendly country.

Krakow is wonderful. The salt mines are absolutely unforgetable, by all means GO there. An easy day trip is also to see Auchwitz...grim, moving but it is a "must visit". We took a tour bus from Krakow, it was a little over an hour away as I recall. We had a fabulous English speaking tour guide, it is easy to arrange. The country side along the way is fascinating. It is sort of like seeing the world from a 1950 perspective.

The city center is lovely. The people are very nice. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
