Just booked a Friday through Sunday weekend in Vegas for two weekends from now. We're splitting the stay between the Waldorf Astoria and the Palazzo. The Waldorf we got with our free night credit from Hilton, and the Palazzo using a $200 credit booking through FHR. Already making reservations for some yummy places to pig out now.

Had to chime in. We just got back from a nineteen day cruise that began in Brisbane, Australia and ended in Tokyo, Japan. Lovely trip. Including getting out there and back we were gone about twenty-four days.

Unexpectedly going to Vegas for a work conference in July now. Vegas has never been on my list so trying to determine if I stay longer than needed, do I stay in Vegas and enjoy things there or go somewhere else for a little bit.

Head to Valley of Fire for sunrise or sunset (1 hr north)

Red Rock canyon is nice for an afternoon jaunt. 30 min west.

We often do 3 day loop from LAS of southern Utah parks and South Rim GC

Death Valley during super bloom (probably over by now)

We've made reservations at YardBird for lunch on Friday and have to definitely hit up some buffets. We're thinking about X Pot hot pot place for dinner one night, too, but are not sure if it's worth it.

Do you have any suggestions?

Loved our hike at Red Rock Canyon. In July?

Make it before and during sunrise in July.
Be in the pool by 10am,
AC from noon to dusk (your sleeping time while visiting desert locations during summer). Or Vegas anytime of the year

Yardbird is tasty. We don't do buffets so no suggestion there. I'd also look into Lago at Bellagio. High end would be prime there. Sadelles or Salt n Ivy for breakfast.
