We did the Singapore Airways Singapore to Newark flight when we moved here. It wasn't too bad as its all business class so lots of room and mostly business people so fairly quiet....

This was back when there was no non-stop from the US west coast to Sydney, so we always had a refueling stop in NZ, Hawaii or Tahiti. It was punishment to get off the plane in Papeete after 12 hours or so only to know we'd be right back on there for another few hours before finally getting to our destination. Our longest trip from North Carolina to Sydney was 33 hours total with four flight segments.
Originally I'd booked to go from NYC to Perth: which is three segments over about 30-32 hours, but I postponed my trip back because that was too much for me and I wanted to spend a bit more time in the US. I'm glad I did. Any flight over 24 hours (any amount of legs) is just too much for me. Maybe if they had fully reclining beds, like in first/business class in some airlines, I could do it, but not sitting in economy all that time.

Indeed it's a very nice flight. I've been on the aircraft several times, although never flown on it.

It's the longest scheduled non stop commercial flight in the world, and at almost $11,000 for a round trip ticket, it's a pretty nice ride.

Of course if you're really ballin, you'll step it up to a private jet, where $11,000 amounts to a rounding error in the total price.

The longest I've been in is about 7.5 hours from Detroit to Amsterdam.

There are many non stop flights to Delhi from US. American airlines has one from Chicago. Continental/United has one from newark . Air India has one from Chicago and one from from New York JFK. All of them take 14-15 hours non stop. my personal favorites are one of Air India as they give more luggage allowance, spicy curry and complimentary alcoholic drinks.

And, first class, which I did last month to BRC. You are still trapped 10+hours in a stuffy metal tube. Yeah the seats are bigger and the meals don't suck as much, but it's still a metal tube.

My long trips were all charted military (not actual military planes except once on return trip from Thailand) Don't remember non stop air time but one charter was some older aircraft that had old engines going from Alaska to Thailand and it seemed to go on forever anyway, if not just because of engine noise. Rich Airlines? Something like that.

On all those long flights (pretty much to the mid east somewhere) every time we stopped to refuel if there was a close enough shower - I would take a quick shower and change undies, socks. If no shower, change undies, socks, washcloth and some face soap, brush teeth etc. halfway. Makes a world of difference. Ziplocks and a well stocked daypack are definetely your friends.
On charters I would also pack sweats and comfy thick wool socks, change after take-off, sort of like changing into pj's for the flight. Change to uniform or travel clothes before landing.

At least on military flights they are usually a bit more lax about getting up and walking around. Sometimes on cargo planes they would let people sack out on the cargo depending on the crew.

There actually was a Rich Airways, which was a small cargo operator out of Florida in the 70s that went bankrupt in the early 80's, so I doubt it was them.

Commerical aircraft operating as a charter under Air Mobility Command are given the callsign "Reach" so that's probably it, although it could have been a number of actual airlines.

Yeah but 1.) you have to live in those cities, and 2.) I gotta have my Delta Frequent Flyer points you know. Best I can do is two legs - MEM to AMS, AMS to Delhi on the KML codeshared flights. This Friday I got through Detroit and CDG (and yes I fully expect the frogs to lose my luggage).

I flew another Indian Airlines 2 or 3 years ago from Delhi to Dubai. Jet Airways I think it was. I was not impressed with it's international economy. At least in Delta I get the "Economy Comfort" (a few extra inches in the seats") and maybe a chance at an upgrade.
