We tried Tagaris Taverna last month. Kind of isolated (at least from our standpoint), and expensive, but no complaints whatsoever about the food or service. If you're prepared to pay for a fairly elegant meal, they have that.

There was virtually nothing Greek about it, though, so if you are a frustrated Philhellene don't get your hopes up.

For Greek food try Apollo, off Lee Blvd. Only game in town for Greek as far as I know.

And not very Greek either. The atmosphere tries harder to be Greek than Tavaris, but the menu I saw was heavy on Greek style pasta.

There's a place up near Batelle too on GW. I have heard that they are owned by the same people.

Venezia. Yes, Venezia, Isla Bonita, and Apollo are owned by the same Greek family - I think different businesses are in different family member's name, not certain. Successful outfit, bunch of hard workers, good on 'em.

Venezia has a few Greek specialties but overall the menu is more Italian/Cosmopolitan than Greek.

A Greek co-worker of mine told me that, yes, a Greek family owns Venezia. But, they serve mostly Italian because they can't serve Greek for about 5 years, according to the agreement they have with the last restaurant they sold.
