Wow, apparently this originated with Newsweek. Guess it's probably true then. I had no idea.

Its pretty obvious he suffered from CTE. Like many footballs player do. The a***Holes that run the NFL should be held more accountable really. NFL should be banned due to the toll it takes of a player.

I would be the mortgage that there was evidence of CTE In his brain when the medical examiner reports his findings.

Its been Brought up before and even the movie Concussion showed this. People make millions off the NFL. And no one is held accountable on a corporate level on the physical damage constantly getting banged in their head does.

He was under the influence of booze and suffering from CTE when the murders. That DOES NOT warrant a life senetence. Put the jerk off NFL owners in jail for life. Thats where the real blame should go

Maiming and killing players is ok, as long at the owners, cities, TV networks, make large profits. $ uber alles. Maybe we should just go back to having a Roman coliseum, where we feed gladiators to the lions. At least they would die quickly.

I think Hernandez was a true psychopath but no doubt CTE exists...just think in this case it wasn't a factor...

I knew this would happen, that people would blame CTE for his actions.

He was a punk thug and deserved to be in jail for his murders. Sad to see he hung himself, but that is not the NFL's fault, etc.

Its prevalent in NFL players. It can make you snap which sounds like What happened with Hernandez. He just snapped. One doesn't kill someone over a spilled drink or claims of being bi-sexual. At least no one with normal brain functions especially when you have so much to lose. (Millions, Notoriety, A successful Pro sports career)

A little different, but similarities..........a young guy from our small rural town, came from a good family,a good football player.

As a sophomore he was starting linebacker at a college and well respected.
However, before his junior year he started to work as a bouncer, wore light weight sleeveless coveralls, and always carried huge rolls of cash.
He dropped out of college and all the young locals treated him like some sort of a God .
To heck with being a football star................a local thug with rolls of money was more important to his throng of worshippers.

One time he was in Denver Colorado and packed a pistol and headed to Colorado Springs for a big drug deal.
( he always said............" I'm not afraid of the Big Boys because I am one of the Big Boys" )

The big drug deal was a sting and local hometowsn thug ended up pulling gun and threatening undercover cop.

He served some time and got out.
No body's hero now!

Hard time getting a job with no college education and a felony on his record.
Died in his 50's.

A shame............what might have been.

Sorry just not buying CTE as reason for Hernandez...he had gotten a way during his time at UF with crimes that would have landed my son(a Gator same time) in prison and derailed his future law career. Hernandez was a true psychopath...early on all the signs were there but because he could play football and help win his crimes were swept under the rug...
