I love the girl who did the Kanye song. She was amazing. The rest just didn't do it for me. The rocker sounds too familiar (Nickleback, Creed, and all those other growling voice bands), the girl who did the Ke$ha song actually sounded worse than Ke$ha (didn't think that was possible before tonight), the high school girl looked so uncomfortable up there (which made me uncomfortable watching it), the lesbian was a carbon copy of Melissa Etheridge (do we need two people who sing identical?), the cowboy was so generic (but if he performed with his pants off as Christina suggested I would have voted for him), Frenchie was good and I really have no criticism for her (she seems like a nice person).
Frenchie was good and I really have no criticism for her
blake didn't seem impressed. when carson asked him for feedback on frenchie, blake gave a nicey nicey answer but i could see through it. (jmo)
on the flip side christina didn't seem impressed with patrick thomas. same deal with her. a nicey nicey response when she was asked for feedback.
dia frampton stepped up her game. her teammate xenia needs a few years to develop skills but she has a lot of potential. at the moment, her voice doesn't "carry".
jared blake's voice doesnt carry either. i watched everyone's performance except lily elise. i don't think she's that good.
these judges need to not be so nicey nicey. all that's coming soon i'll bet.
I've never watched American Idol so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I love the relationships between the coaches and the contestants. All of the coaches seem to be truly emotionally invested in the contestants. I'm wondering if they're not getting as much or more out of it than the singers.
I also wonder at what point the judges start thinking about who can best survive the pressures of making it big. For example, I like Jared and his style (except the bandana--do you think he has a giant birthmark or something?) but I could see him falling apart under pressure. He said during the battle rounds that he quit drinking 3 years ago. He seems completely blown away by everything that's going on and I could see him abusing alcohol to cope with it all. OTOH, some of the others, like the country boy and Frenchie or Beverly seem like they could handle fame better.
I dunno. In any case, can't believe how hooked I've become on this show!
Am I the only one who thought the performance by the coaches truly sucked ???
You're not alone. It was awful.
I caught part of the show for the first time last night. Hated it. I'll stick with American Idol. Don't like the format of this show at all, so I won't be back. I hated the coaches' performance; it was as bad as it gets.
I really thought I was gonna like this show. I think I liked what seemed to be different from AI. Now, it just feels like another singing competition.
Christina Aguilera is really getting on my nerves. Does she like hearing herself talk or what? I found myself sitting there thinking, "okay, you said your opinion of the singer now shut up" Sheesh!!
Javier on Adam's team is going to walk away with this competition. In my opinion he is the only one with any talent on this show.
