It sounds to me like the tones the old dial-up computers or fax machines made when connecting.
Yes, definitely electronic. I'm surprise at those who said they didn't hear it. It was very obvious to me and I'm sitting on my porch across the street from a busy construction site with a gazillion birds heralding spring all around me.
Is this coming through only on cable tv? or when streaming?
I haven't noticed it on any of my shows (on a variety of network) but I often putter around the house while watching TV so maybe I'm just not paying good attention. (I don't watch any of the shows the OP mentioned)
I listenend to the clip maybe 4,5 times I DID NOT HEAR ANY FAINT TONES!! -- When do they come on?? -- WHAT DOES SHE SAY WHEN YOU HEAR THEM?? (Ill llisten again and see)

At the 12 second mark, and at the 17 second mark. I heard them loud and clear.
Yes, I can hear it. I don't have cable tv and I don't watch the shows listed. Have you ever heard it on network tv? Are we being trained like Pavlov's dogs, lol?!
I just assumed the noise I heard, that some described as "chimes", was the noise of one of whichever ghosts Ol Ebonezer is getting ready to encounter. It seemed to go with the scene. So if that is the noise, I don't know that this clip is a good example. I'd have to hear it in something that it didn't match the scene. (ie: The tennis match.)
On an episode of "Brain Games" a while back (High-Frequency Hearing Test - Brain Games Video - National Geographic Channel) -- they played a series of tones of decreasing pitch to the audience. Only the very youngest could pick up the highest tones. We are so used to imagining our senses are complete; that we can see/hear/taste/smell/feel all that there is in our environment, but we are sadly limited in what we perceive. I can't hear the tones you describe at all but it's probably because of my age and relentless tinnitis. For a true description of these tones, you should be asking the youngest among us.

I did not hear anything either.. however, it might be because you and me are over 50 yrs old. On the TV show Brain Games they did a hearing test and played tones.. the 5 year olds could hear a sound that a 55 year old could not. That may be why.
ARE YOU GUYS SURE YOUR NOT HEARING THE MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND????? -- They are what could sound like TONES playing (Kinda like spooky music) But no SEPERATE TONES during it......
First time I didnt hear it. 2nd time heard it clearly, Im 56 years old. Definately a digital tone sequence and not part of the movie. Sounds like an Atari video game kind of noise.
I'm 57 and heard the electronic notes fine. Just turn up the sound, you really can't miss it. And I've taken those online hearing tests and KNOW my ears aren't what they used to be! Can't say that I've ever heard it while watching tv though, but I usually stream so it may be different.
I have no idea what it could be but if it's on one channel it's probably something with their computerized equipment, like the black marks you see on film that indicate it's time to change the reel, or something like that. Maybe "30 seconds to commercial" type of thing?
