"Lifetime confirmed to Variety that the season 12 art — complete with nude models worshiping a costumed Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn — will not be on display in the Los Angeles area due to nudity. While details regarding the ban are still emerging, according to the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, signs containing “obscene matters” can be prohibited by the city."
Besides the claimed obscenity aspect of it (you can see it if you scroll down the page), is it even appropriate for a show that's all about clothes to use nude (male and female) models in it's advertising? Maybe the models would be better in the worst outfits of the last 10 seasons. At least people would laugh.

I didn't know anything shocked anyone in LA
Looks as though some,if not all of the models have on body stockings.
No biggie.

I don't think it has anything to do with the show really, but it has gotten them lots of publicity, which I suppose is all that really matters. I read about this yesterday and didn't even notice the giant needles and the scissors throne until I looked at the photo again.
I saw this story on "Extra" last night. How utterly ridiculous and hypocritical of LA to ban that billboard! How many "stars" and "starlettes" have walked a red carpet leaving almost nothing to the imagination? Where does porn come from? Unbelievable.
NY is showing the billboards and the east coast is way more prim and proper than the west, especially LA!
I think in the case of naked billboards they are worried about car accidents because drivers are distracted.
I think a show about clothes that has to resort to naked billboards may have jumped the shark. I still think models wearing the worst 10 outfits of past Project Runway seasons would have been 1) appropriate and 2) a hilarious billboard and talked about just as much.
