Doesn't your DVR allow you to adjust the recording time? Mine will let me extend the recording time of a particular show OR set it to just record the show regardless of what time it starts/ends.

I have Uverse, but as I recall, Time Warner had similar adaptations. Maybe you need a new cable company.....

TAR is one show I tend to watch it when it airs but I have it set to record one to two hours later.

Another thing I have done when there is a delay is look at how long the '60 minutes' stop watch is then look at a real clock and adjust the ending to that.

DirecTV also lets you extend the end time up to 3 hours. I always do that on Sundays just in case. It doesn't take up space since I watch AR that night anyway. It just insures I get the entire show. Or if your cable provider doesn't offer the extension, record everything that is on that night and delete what you don't need after you watch AR. It's no use bitching about the delay. Football (i.e. money) rules the airwaves.

If you have Comcast, Amazing Race is available on demand with them. Don't know about other cable providers. Or you can watch it the next day on CBS.com.

Yeah, Comcast has this feature, too. When we had cable we would set the DVR to record an extra hour.

I'm so glad I'm in the Mountain Time Zone. Games are over by 5:30 at the latest, our local news comes on and is followed by 60 minutes at 6:00 and TAR at 7:00. Never a delay due to football.

Anybody else been watching since Season 1? We've watched them all, even the awful family season. I keep thinking one of these days I'm finally going to stop. I think I could live without it at this point. I'm not a reality show fan anymore apart from this (had my fill of a few others back in the day, but it's been several years since I regularly watched any other), and my girlfriend even less so, but we've always watched TAR for the travel aspect, different parts of the world, etc. The way the contestants experience it is pretty artificial, but still, we get to see those places a bit. A lot of the personality stuff we could do without. So. Dunno. It's a tradition, not one I ever thought would make it to 21 or 22 or whatever it is seasons. How much new can really happen?
