Team Pink has had a terrible go at this leg. Karma is a *****.
Hate these "to be continued" episodes. I did figure this leg to be a non-elimination one but we won't know until next week. And the fate of team Pink or the last place baseball wives.
Would be just fine with me if both express passes were eliminated in pocket. Are they hearing what teams are saying or are they just plain ignorant? I think yes to both.
I think stick shifts started being phased out in the 80's as people wanted automatics. Like remote controls and other time savers, stick shifts were too much trouble. The last stick shift I had was on a 1980 Suburu. Two of my kids learned to drive on that, but the other two learned on my 1989 Ford Escort which was automatic. They can't drive a stick, so it doesn't surprise me that these girls can't either.
Actually you can order a vehicle with stick shift, and a lot of trucks have them. The point was that all these years of TAR everyone should know by now that overseas in the TAR episodes they all use stick shifts, so those girls were not big fans of TAR or they would have known to learn how to drive one. This happened before on TAR in past episodes where someone didn't realize and learn how to use a stick shift.
Well, I know Survivor has started doing more "proactive" casting, where they seek out people to apply rather than relying 100% on submitted applications from fans, so maybe they are one of those.
Still, I would like to think if I were completing for a million bucks, I would try to do a bit of research. I mean, with recaps out there for all the season, the whole stick shift thing should be pretty easy to figure out.
Then again, I drive a stick every day. At the time I purchased my car (2004 MINI Cooper S) that model only came with a stick. Auto was not an option on the S until Late 2005. All MINIs still have a stick as the base transmission.
Yes. Opposite the side that we're used to in many country's.
OK, lol, I'd be over the cliff. Seriously though, aren't most floor gear shift knobs labeled with shifting positions? If worse came to worse, I'd put it in neutral and have my team partner push. lol.
Actually, the pedals are the same as if they were moved from the left side to the right. That is, clutch is left foot, gas is right foot and brake in between. You could make an argument if that is reverse or not as they are reversed relative to the center of the car, but the same as you sit. The biggest issue would for me would be changing gears left handed.
Since most countries in Europe are left lane, are the gears and footpedals different as well?
You would shift with your left hand, but the clutch, brake and accelerator are of universal configuration. Even if the pedals are on the right side of the car, you still clutch with your left and brake/accelerate with your right foot.
Most European countries drive on the right. Only the UK, Ireland and Malta drive on the left.
I would certainly have to relearn manual transmission driving if I appeared on the Race. I learned on a 1970 Beetle (in 1991), but haven't driven one since. I wasn't good at it anyway.

You'd be OK. "Grind it 'til you Find it". lol. Now back to the Race...

You know .. that's what I wonder about, you know you're going on AR why not learn how to drive a stick shift - pretty much every season they're in at least 1 country with stick ...
Not learning to drive stick for AR is like going on Survivor and not knowing how to swim
