Does it still come on? I used to see it all the time on Nick, but I haven't seen it lately Last episode I saw was the one where the fire lord killed the moon fish - and Ang turned into a huge fish out of water - or something like that
Noggin is a safe bet for the younger set, No commercials! I think that is one my biggest complaints of so-called family viewing. Maybe the show is okay, but how about the innappropriate commercials during family viewing time? (Horror movies, CSI blood baths, beer, Viagra, loan counseling, personal injury attroneys etc...) Uugh. Advertise all you want, just not during family TV shows.
I have a theory as to why children's television shows of today suck. Maybe because we aren't children?

I love cartoons & kid's shows. I've NEVER stopped watching them over the years. Even in H.S. my brother & I got up early to watch Pokemon. I am now 25 & still watch cartoons on a weekly basis.
I think the cartoons of today are borderline trashy. Not all of them of course, but wow, I'm shocked sometimes.
They have gotten worse over the years. Vulgar at times. I screen what my son watches, big time. I cannot just put the TV on Cartoon Network & think that he's alright watching it.
And my son has gotten to the point where if a cartoon character says something nasty, he will tell me. Thank goodness!!
I'm about to age myself here based on the posts already in this thread, but...waxing nostalgic about cartoons from the 90s seems a bit short for me. Those of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s had shows like Big Blue Marble, The Electric Company, Land of the Lost, Sigmond the Seamonster, and Woody Woodpecker. We lived for the time when they would show old-school Warner Brothers' cartoons, and we even got excited about the annual airing of The Wizard of Oz. This was not only before DVDs, but also before VCRs and cable TV. There were a few hours a day after school that you could watch cartoons, and Saturday mornings. Now, it's a free-for-all, and kids can watch trash shows 24/7.
As to the why? I think the shows made today are by and large complete garbage. Tons of lazer beams shooting and guns blasting, or sick, depraved weird characters who do little else than pick their nose and eat it. It is all part of the dumbing of America. Children these days spend nearly all their free time in front of a screen (TV, Computer, Laptop, Cell phone, Gameboy, PSP, you name it) instead of outdoors learning about their surroundings and the people they have to share them with. It will make them more complacent about their imminent lot in life, which will be to serve their corporate masters. Yep, I got all that out of today's cartoons...but it is just my personal opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
I'm still watching my Thundercat DVD's and I do like That's so Raven, and Arthur.

When I was growing up Nickelodeon was like Kids Haven. It had some cute moments but it seems like all these over dramatic shows are aimed at pre-teens, but didn't there used to be cartoons for that age group - what happened to Hey Arnold, Doug, As Told By Ginger, even Wild Throneberry's? Do kids really need the peewee version of Days of Our Lives?
We watched for like 3 hours - not one single cartoon - not even Jimmy Neutron or The Fairly Oddparents, just sitcom after sitcom about dating, popularity, rumors, drama, drama, drama. What happened to story lines that kids could follow?My nieces & nephew didn't seem particularly interested in any of the shows - they were just watching them because they were on. So I put in my Hanna-Barbera classics DVD and we spent the day watching the Flintstones, Jetson's, Droopy, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, Captain Caveman & Yogi Bear. They laughed at every show.
It made me a little sad because I remember being a little kid and waking up early on Saturday morning to beat my brothers to the remote so I could watch MY favorite cartoons. What do kids of this generation have to look forward to...the next $500 video game system?
My 6 year old watches Power Rangers and the old Batman re-runs and my 2 year old loves Go Diego Go, Sesame Street and the Wonder Pets. The only one I can't stand is the Wonder Pets. Why, oh why does Ming Ming lisp? It's sewiously dwives me cwazy!!!!
On DirecTV there is a great channel called "Sprout" (channel 295) its a PBS network aimed at preschoolers. My daughter loves it, and I'm impressed with the programs, most of them if not all (we havent seen all of them) are learning based. If you can, check it out. Let me now what you think.
I also like Noggin for the kids. These stupid horny teenager shows.
