I liked the show. Good cast. Decent writing. The show needs an antagonist, but you can see one coming.
But what emotionally crippled maroon picked the music??? Eek, that dreck was painful.
I may have to end up watching this OnDemand, because the commercials made me want to throw things at the TV. This was my first time to sit down and watch FreeForm. But judging from the commercials, it may be the most inane, banal, and shallow network on tv.
Never-mind, I see that Hulu has it. I was hoping I could see it all before my free Hulu subscription was up (end of this month), but it runs until August, so if it is good, I may just have to go ahead and pay for a couple months subscription, LOL.
This show certainly isn't what I'd call gripping. It's a slow burn. But I admit I'm enjoying it. It's nothing like the other super hero shows on TV, and the two leads are great.
But really. Time for the bad guy already. Episode 4 is coming and we still don't have an antagonist.
I like the slow buildup. They first have to discover that they have powers. Then these 2 strangers have to meet. Then they have to realize that they are more powerful together than they are apart. THEN they meet the antagonist and other enemies.
It's pretty good so far. Not great, but it does have me intrigued. Looking forward to seeing what direction the show goes from here. These next few episodes should really set the tone (either for the best or for worse).
Episode 3 …
This show certainly isn't what I'd call gripping. It's a slow burn. But I admit I'm enjoying it. It's nothing like the other super hero shows on TV, and the two leads are great.
Bears some resemblance to "Impulse" on YouTube Red. With binge watching the norm, they drag out story lines to incredible lengths. You can watch the first two episodes of Impulse without joining, but you have to join and quit to watch episodes #3-#10 ($10 a month). But there is a one month free period which allows you to quit.
Both actresses are playing 16 year old girls. Both are in their 20's.
Olivia Hastings Holt (born August 5, 1997) Cloak and Dagger
"Maddie" Hasson (born January 4, 1995) Impulse
Impulse has no equivalent male lead. The evil teenage boys are much bigger parts. The good kid is the kind you have to look up in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Even though I'm still enjoying the show, there are two things that are driving me crazy in every single episode:
The music. I hadn't realized modern pop music was this consistently horrible. It's torturous.
The shaky cam. Can that fad please die?
I'm not loving it, honestly. The viewing experience on Free Form isn't helping either though, lol.
