This season was terrible. Too much fanservice. Pacing was just awful. Tone switched from comedy to drama to horror, which is not a bad thing, but it switched because of bad writing and because they didn't know what they were doing.
This was an abortion of a television season. Which is a huge shame because this could have been great. Putting in my resume, would love to write this show in s6. Great cast, wasted cast.

There were a lot of things that made me wonder how you have a roomful of writers and that was the best you came up with?
And, it's over for me! I watched it a little faster than usual. I liked it. Not how it ended, but I liked the season.
Don't want to give away too much, but Nicki cracked me up getting all 'Criminal Minds' on the psycho. 'WHAT WAS YOUR ORIGINAL NARCISSISTIC INJURY?' lol!
Watching the last episode. I noticed a mistake (either by the writers or the police)
Spoiler
When the head of the riot squad went into the command center, he said that they were short 10 inmates. They were actually short 12 (though their count should have been 11).
There were 10 in the pool ... Piper, Alex, Nikki, Red, Frieda, Blanca, Gloria, Taystee, Suzanne, and Cindy. (Plus Piscatella)
But they were also missing Pennsatucky and Chang. And they were counting one non-inmate (the Counterfeit C*** of CT, which of course they don't know yet)
Can't believe I stuck out the entire season. Though I did get a lot of laundry done in the process. I liked the last episode, but the whole thing went on far too long.
It's a shame for those that didn't like it. I thought it was fun. I just watched it too fast. Usually I stretch it out longer. I liked Tiffany being all 'Want to watch TV?' lol. How is there food in there and TV service?
Question about Dia: who is the real father of her baby? I remember something about framing a guard to protect someone else. Another guard? I'm at the part she's asking the father's mother to take her .....
They were trying to frame Mendez (who is an absolute JERK IMO - and yes, some CO's do act like he does) in Season 1, but he wore a condom every time he and Daya had sex. Daya was going to claim that Mendez raped her and was the one who impregnated her, rather than Bennett, who was the real father.
I'm on episode 4 and have been very bored so far. I am also sick of the "white shaming" they keep slipping in there.
I will stick it out but it hasn't been easy and fun like all the previous seasons.
I think it was a great season. Very intense, very innovative--an entire season to cover only three days of story time??--and they did a great job of presenting what the prisoners had to put up with for years.
Obviously they can't maintain an entirely grim and violent tone for the whole season, so the scenes of comic relief were warranted, but sometimes I think they were a bit sloppy in how they handled it.
Ideally they would end the series right there, the Sopranos-style unresolved resolution. Of course, they're not doing that.
