I'm on episode 4 and have been very bored so far. I am also sick of the "white shaming" they keep slipping in there.
I will stick it out but it hasn't been easy and fun like all the previous seasons.
I'm on Episode 3 and so far I feel the same as you do. I'm watching it but I'm not nearly as into it -so far it's just not all that compelling. The ongoing chaos is sort of irritating me more than entertaining me.
Seriously? Geez, people make dumb mistakes, doesnt mean they shouldnt get SOME comfort.
Given that we've seen most of these people's stories, we can agree that nearly all of them were premeditated violations, not just some OOPS.
And then, while they're in jail, they're breaking all the rules on top of that.
Yeah, no. Not sorry. Even when I was a kid, I hated rule-breakers bc of the anarchy they caused and people they screwed over.
Sorry to say I stopped at ep. 3.
Just wasn't interested in this seasons storyline and concept.
I'm waiting for Wentworth to come in with another season.
Yeah, but it wasn't really sympathy-garnering, because they are criminals. Don't want a crappy life in jail? Don't break the law.
Sigh. In this country, it is illegal to use prisoners as slave labor and food must meet certain standards and the guards are not supposed to be abusive and KILL prisoners and so on and so forth. But they do all these things IRL and Tasty is a great spokesperson against all this!

I've always loved the character Freida, and was so glad to see her get more screen time this season! But, I forget what her crime was. Obviously she's a lifer. What did she do, did we see yet? I enjoyed seeing her childhood scenes.
Other than that, it was just a "meh" season for me. I began to think that OITNB has skewed more towards comedy to be eligible for that category at the award shows.
Frieda reveals in "40 OZ of Furlough" that she cut off her husband's penis with a butcher knife that "wasn't even sharp."
In Season Four, she also mentions that she killed four people in one year. She also killed a cop with his own gun but she stated she doesn't remember if she was caught or not.
