When I was in elementary school, this series was heavily hyped and had its own line of toys. I remember a sad case of a three-year-old boy firing a missile from one of the toys into his mouth, causing his lungs to collapse and killing him. The company then redesigned the toys so they wouldn't launch missiles.
Back to BG, I guess it cost too much for the ratings it was getting. A Tale of Two Galacticas - Television Obscurities
I remember it. Especially near the end, when they finally "came home" to earth to find themselves in, of all places, Los Angeles. As they were flying over LA, one character remarked, while looking at one of the interstates, "Look at how tight the formations are!" If there was another show after that, I never saw it.
You must be drunk. The remake is far superior. I say that as a person who spent over $1,000 and bought one of the original RCA vcr's and some blank tapes in 1978 JUST to record the original series.
I'm rewatching it right now. It's on ME-TV Saturday nights. Episode 9 aired last night, "The Young Lords".
I caught some of that last night. When the Cylons send the dummy in the "raft" (a small boat mounted with what appeared like laser cannons, haha) across the river in exchange for Starbuck...priceless.
I find that if I concentrate on something else, I can go for years without re-experiencing the horror.
Thanks for ruining my winning streak! LOL!
