Part 1 will be out on DVD next month. Which means Netflix should have it 2-3 weeks after that. Plenty of time to catch up before the finale.

Vince Gilligan says that the finale will most certainly not be open ended. All will be resolved:

Sounds promising.

I don't think it's possible for all of the major characters to have a "victorius" ending so if I could choose which characters get one it would be in this order:

Jessie
Hank
Walt
Skylar
Marie

Mike would have been second behind Jessie but obviously that's not an issue any more.

What do you mean by victorious?

Victorious was how Vince Gilligan described the finale...

Quote:
Speaking from Los Angeles, where he was busy editing the final batch of episodes—"We're about halfway through," he explained—Gilligan struggled to "say something of substance" about the end of Breaking Bad without "giving anything away." After much hemming and hawing, he finally settled on a single word to describe the finale: "victorious."

"I'll say this much," Gilligan began. "I'm surprised by how victorious, in a certain sense, the ending feels to me."

Whether "victorious" means that Hank (Dean Norris) nabs Walt (Bryan Cranston), or Jesse (Aaron Paul) breaks free, or even that Walt triumphs over his (many) foes and frenemies, Gilligan wouldn't say. Walt, of course, seems to be overdue for some sort of comeuppance, but Breaking Bad has always resisted tidy moral constructions, so we wouldn't bet (just yet) on seeing Heisenberg dead or behind bars in the end.

I have realized (after 63 years) that my favorite books, shows or movies are based on main characters (like Walt for instance) that are neither totally good or totally bad......

I don't think there is any such thing as a human being that is totally bad or totally good.

Walt is mostly bad these days though.

Any news on if/when Part 1 will be available on Netflix ?
