Ironically, from what I have heard, the Gosselins DO spank their kids....its working well, huh? Because they are fundamentalist Christians, and they believe in all that "spare the rod" crap. Of course they won't show that stuff on the TV show.

Families like these are different and if you learn something from them it seems to make more sense. But like Jon and Kate they are way off what learning is about right now. I wrote a complain to TLC but one person won't matter.
Amen. I think Jon seems like a good guy, it's Kate that irritates people. And from what I have seen, her parenting techniques are not working very well. For them to allow their brat Maddy to have hissy fits and talk to them the way she does makes me wonder how the rest of them are going to act when they get a little older.
What I thought was so funny is last night when she was on Larry King she said that her and Jon have more work than they can do in some days. The first year they needed so many people to help them. It seems the longer the show airs the less people like family and friends they show. I think Kate has pissed them all off. You never hear about Aunt with the gum.
I like the them and the show and I've said so many times but I have to admit that last nights episode was a bit much. Kate has developed a rather large ego lately and it is becoming obvious. About Jon, I don't feel too bad for him because (1) he is a slacker and seems to lack motivation (2) if the treatment from Kate bothered him he should be a man and stand up for himself. They both seem comfortable in their roles and accepting of the treatment they receive from each other.
Now THIS bother's me. Just shows that Kate has to be "the Queen" and always in the right, never wrong.
I know so many women that are like this and they seem to be considered 'Great Moms'. My aunt was like that in her way--and her husband treated her like a queen, kids adored her and turned out well. She sort of scared me. <shrug>

Last I heard they were BOTH the parents...is Kate annoying? Certainly, no argument from me. But....Jon has no job and often seems to think things just magically get done....If there are "parenting techniques" to be criticized...they both deserve equal blame or kudos.. He is equally responsible for these kids - even if he chooses to abdicate that responsiblity because Kate is a shrew....
OK, here's what's annoying me today. After last week's show, and all Kate's DRAMA about how filthy the refrigerator in the new house is..this week there's a sparkling new stainless steel refrigerator. Kate, next time just shut the F up, buy the new refrigerator, and spare us the drama.
I do think Jon does work. Awhile ago he took a job doing whatever he does and said he could work from home. I think it was with that friend of Kate's husband Carla.
